Sun, sun and more sun. Spring has arrived in London. We woke up today to discover the city in a whole new light. . .sunlight. So we threw on some flip flops and t-shirts and meandered around Hampstead Village for a while, killing time before Caitie had to arrive on set for her acting debut in the upcoming independent film, "The Power of 3". She landed the role as "Workout Girl #2", and was an extra in scene where the three leading ladies are testing out a pilates class. From what Caitie said, the scene begins with a close up of her toes (ha, ha) and ends with all three ladies staring lustfully at some brawny pilates chump, who happens to be standing right front of Caitie. She said she craned her neck a little to guarantee some screen time. All of this came about via her new job at Sweaty Betty, where she sells yoga pants and jogging shoes to London's female fitness enthusiasts. Sweaty Betty donated the workout clothes for the movie, as well as one employee, our dear Caitie, to round out the class for the pilates scene. I didn't recognize any of the actresses names, but Caitie assures me that one of them is famous in Canada. So everyone be on the lookout for "The Power of 3", and don't worry, Caitie got a pedicure in preparation for the close-up on her toes. . .
Our boxes finally arrived, and the house is feeling more like home. I certainly miss all of the closet space we had in Chicago. The makeshift clothes rack we assembled in the guest room has toppled over twice now, leaving my suits a crumpled mess on the floor. Someday I'll figure out how to rig the thing to wall. . .
Tomorrow we're headed to Brick Lane to see our friend Daniele's art show - she's exhibiting her work at an event called "Beirut Live" (check it out on facebook). We're gonna head down early and check out Spitalfield's Market...everyone keeps saying it's a "must do", so we're doing it.
Tonight, dinner and a movie on iTunes. Sometimes it's nice to stay in and relax.
Oh, one more thing. . .Go Villanova!
-Mike
